Accommodation

This unusual holiday let was originally converted as somewhere to live while we renovated the main property.

Our guests are always amazed at how light and spacious the Hen House is, and how from a dis-used, uninspiring battery chicken shed we have made such a quirky, yet comfortable home.

Musicians, actors and artists have all enjoyed the space as well as young families, keen walkers and those wishing for a peaceful retreat.

The Hen House is on one level.  The spacious, open plan kitchen living room is light and airy and has a wood burning stove for those chilly evenings, and everything you would expect in a well-equipped holiday let.

At the far end of the Hen House there is a large double wood panelled bedroom with king size bed, ample storage and plenty of space for a travel cot.

Off this is the en-suite shower room with a heated towel rail, washing machine and airing cupboard.

The Hen House is perfectly formed for two, although if required the double futon in the living room can be made up.

Organic, home-made sourdough and freshly laid eggs, muesli and local honey are all provided for your arrival breakfast, along with seasonal home grown produce, when available.

Outside Space:
The Hen House has a small, garden area and terrace with garden furniture, parasol and BBQ for outdoor living.

Beyond the garden is a wildflower meadow with mown paths that take you down to the swing under an old Oak Tree.

What’s included:
The Hen House has a fully equipped kitchen, which includes a dishwasher, electric cooker and microwave.  Store cupboard essentials are provided, and eggs – if the chickens are laying.

The living room has a comfortable suite and rustic coffee table with a TV, DVD player and films, radio/cd/iPod dock, books, local maps and information on the area, and a piano.

Crisp white bed linen and towels are all included.

Electricity, WIFI and logs are included.

Bikes can be stored in the open barn where there is also a table tennis table.
We regret we are unable to accommodate pets as we have cats, a dog and free ranging chickens.

No smoking in the hen house.
